Sly Buford is an investor, author and entrepreneur and serves as the Chairman of Tenth Street Group,  a private investment firm that buys and invests in small businesses, the economic engine of America. Sly has positioned himself as one of the leading voices and minds on business, finance and investing.

Known as “Sly,” he is described as one of the most forward thinkers in the world of small business investing. He acutely recognizes trends and patterns early to help others understand how shifts in the economy impact the realities of small business today. Sly’s approach sits at the intersection of business and investing. He keenly understands how to bring small investor relevance to the forefront. He is a prolific small cap private equity investor with investments across multiple sectors including manufacturing, paper and packaging, distribution and services.

Sly is an entrepreneur at heart – he buys and invests small businesses. Today, he buys and grows small businesses through his private investment firm, Tenth Street Group, with the headquarters based out of Boca Raton, FL. Tenth Street Group serves as a holding company, which includes multiple operating companies such as Tenth Street Metals, Tenth Street Building Services, Tenth Street Utility and Infrastructure, and Tenth Street Plumbing and Refrigeration. Sly is former Founder and CEO of Elite Capital Partners, a small cap commercial real estate investment firm. He guided Elite Capital through $50m in small multifamily acquisitions and dispositions through syndication, respectively. He also is actively positioning himself to one day own a piece of a major sports franchise.

Sly is a bestselling author, with a published book titled The Hidden Upside: Unlocking Wealth in Small Business Investing. In addition to running Tenth Street Group, Sly documents his daily life as a CEO through his social media channels.
